Switching, without the fear

How to Switch Salon & Barbershop Software Without Losing Your Client Data

Updated

The short answer

You don't lose it. A proper migration brings your full client history — contacts, visit history, notes, and formulas — into the new system and verifies it against the old one before you go live. With Amplify the migration is on us: your data comes over, we run the switch for you, and nothing is lost or held hostage.

The real fear

Can You Switch Without Losing Client Data? Yes.

Your client list is the business — so the thought of moving it terrifies most owners into staying on software they've outgrown. But losing data isn't what switching does; it's what a bad, do-it-yourself migration does. Done properly, everything that matters comes with you.

How we do it

The Migration — Done for You, in Four Steps.

  • 1 · Pull your history — We export the full record from your current system — we've done this off the software shops use today and know where it hides.
  • 2 · Map and import — Your data is mapped into Amplify so every field lands where it belongs — nothing dumped into a notes blob.
  • 3 · Verify against the old system — Counts and records are checked against your current software before anything goes live. If it doesn't reconcile, it isn't done.
  • 4 · Train and go live — Training runs about two hours, and we run the switch for you — location by location for a brand, so the business never goes dark.
And then it stays yours

Once You're on Amplify, Your Data Is Yours — for Good.

Amplify is a processor, not an owner. Your client list is walled off from competitors, every access is logged, and if you ever decide to leave, we export it cleanly and you take it wherever you want. Never held hostage — the thing that trapped you last time doesn't happen here.

FAQ

Salon Software Migration: FAQ

Will I lose my appointment or visit history?
No. Amplify migrates your full visit and service history along with your client records, so the story of every client comes with you, not just their name and number. When a regular sits down after the switch, their past services are already there. The migration is on us, and moving never means starting your client relationships over from scratch.
What happens to appointments already on the books?
Appointments already on the books come over to Amplify with everything else. Future and standing appointments migrate, so no client is stranded and no one has to be re-booked by hand. Your clients keep their times, your team keeps its schedule, and the switch happens behind the scenes instead of on the phone with every client on your list.
What if my current vendor won't hand over my data cleanly?
Amplify handles that as part of the migration. A vendor that won't hand over data cleanly is more common than it should be, because some platforms make leaving hard. We've migrated shops off that exact software and know how to get your history out. Migration is on us, so a difficult export is our problem to solve, not yours.
How long does the whole thing take?
Amplify runs a guided migration for you, with roughly two hours of training. For a multi-location brand we go door by door on a schedule, so the whole business never goes dark at once. The migration is on us, and your full history comes over with your client records, including future and standing appointments already on the books.
